The electronics content in the car body has grown strongly over the past few years. A nice illustration of this trend is the strong growth of electronic functions integrated in exterior mirrors. Many modern mirrors are nowadays standard fitted with electric position adjustment, anti-damp function, a remote keyless entry (RKE) receiver and sometimes even indicator lights.
Melexis’ in-house competences in all these fields enable a monolithic integration of certain functions in order to optimize module cost and performance. Melexis has know-how in position sensing (Hall effect ICs) and motor controllers to adjust the mirror position, RF receivers, LED drivers to control the indicator lights and LIN bus transceivers and MCUs to minimize wiring and to interface with the LIN network. |
